The poetry slam was an incredible opportunity. I felt some real emotion behind most of the poems that were delivered. It is always a challenge to step out of the box, and do something that you normally would never do. I know I was nervous and I could see some others shaking up there as well. I think that everyone did an amazing job and the creativeness of some poems went above and beyond. I must say that there was one poem that particularly moved me. It takes real dedication and courage to lay troubles out there at the feet of total strangers. I applaud you.
Your poem was great, and perfectly executed. Everyone did a good job, and put a lot of feeling into what they wrote. We could not have asked for a better place to perform either.
ReplyDeletewasn't that the best place?? i loved how everyone was so open about such personal things. it really was an experience to have a group of people expose themselves to each other like that. to be a part of that. definitely one of my favorite class experiences, and one of my favorite group experiences in general. i appreciate the trust that went on that day :)
ReplyDeleteYea you had a killer poem, everyone felt the words you spoke. I love this ICC class because everyone is genuine and we were able to abandon all fear and lay it out there. Coming from a big school, I see a lot of spoiled kids who take things for granted. I really felt like our class was a diverse sample of what is real. Nice job!
